Silk Design & Build is committed to maintaining workplace health and safety for the careful and efficient delivery of our projects. To meet this commitment, we comply with all legislative requirements of Work Safe NZ. We take all practical steps to:

• Provide a safe place of work with up-to-date equipment and proper materials.
• Clearly outline safe work methods and ensure they are practiced at all times.
• Deliver adequate supervision and training.
• Ensure employees are committed to their responsibility to promote health and safety in the workplace.
• Continually review and improve our health and safety performance.

Our team is highly trained to follow protocols for incident management. While on-site, our employees are engaged and perceptive, following our safety guidelines and flagging potential risks and hazards. Our safety training includes emergency management, evacuation, and rehabilitation modules with a focus on accident prevention.

Who are we protecting

In New Zealand, employers have a legal obligation to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for their employees in the first instance. Silk Design & Build accepts this responsibility to not only protect our employees but also for others who come into contact with our work activity including:

• Visitors to a workplace
• Customers
• Members of the public

How Will We Work With You to Ensure Health & Safety?

Ensuring we work together with our clients for everyone’s health and safety is a fundamental part of Silk Design & Builds work safe strategy. Before we begin work on a project we always plan ahead—thinking about each stage of work and who will be affected by it. Together we identify potential risks and agree on how to mitigate or resolve issues if they do occur. Within our team, we define roles, responsibilities, and actions so that our employees are aware of their individual responsibilities on site. During our projects, we carry out reasonable and proportionate monitoring to ensure that all health and safety measurements and risk management is maintained throughout the entire process.

How Disruptive Will Our Work Be for Your Business Operations?

We understand the importance of business continuity in our sectors. We have a demonstrated ability to deliver successful projects in live environments. We implement a strategic construction plan for each project, which lays out constraints such as noise and dust, safety risks, and optimal work hours. Using this construction plan, we ensure that our clients can continue their businesses with minimal disruption.

How Reliable Are We in Our Delivery of Projects?

We have a proven track record in delivering projects on time, within budget. The service you receive from the SILK team is based on quality-assured processes and is produced by motivated and talented project teams to ensure high-quality results.
